NinjaTrader 8 Journal
The Best Trading Journal
for NinjaTrader 8
TrackyTrade syncs directly from NinjaTrader 8 in real time — no CSV exports, no manual entry, ever.
TrackyTrade is the best NinjaTrader 8 trading journal because it is the only journal with a native NinjaTrader indicator that syncs trades in real time, calculates MAE and MFE automatically from 1-minute bar data, and detects revenge trading patterns — for $10/month or $99/year.
Why NinjaTrader 8 Traders Need a Dedicated Journal
NinjaTrader 8 is the platform of choice for serious futures traders — excellent execution, deep customization, and a powerful indicator ecosystem. But NT8's built-in trade log is not a journal. It shows you trade history, not insights. It doesn't tell you when you trade best, why you're leaving money on the table, or whether you're revenge trading after a loss.
TrackyTrade fills that gap. The TrackyTradeSync indicator installs directly into NT8 and uses NinjaTrader's OnExecutionUpdate event to detect trade closure and write to a local CSV file within 1–2 seconds. TrackyTrade watches that folder with a file watcher that checks every 500ms. Your journal is always current — automatically, in real time, with no action required after initial setup.

How to Set Up NinjaTrader 8 Sync
- Download and install TrackyTrade. On first launch, select NinjaTrader 8 as your platform.
- In NT8, go to Tools → Import NinjaScript Add-On and select TrackyTradeSync.zip from your TrackyTrade installation folder.
- Add the TrackyTradeSync indicator to a 1-minute chart for each instrument you trade — one chart per instrument (ES, NQ, MES, MNQ, YM, CL, etc.).
- In the indicator settings, set the Sync Folder path to match TrackyTrade's sync folder. Trades begin syncing immediately.
- In TrackyTrade, click Connect Sync Folder and browse to the same folder. Status shows LIVE — Syncing.
Workspace Tip: Save your NT8 charts as a Workspace (File → Workspace → Save Workspace As → name it "TrackyTrade"), then set it as default (File → Workspace → Set As Default). This ensures your sync charts and indicator reload automatically every time you open NinjaTrader — no manual setup after the first day.
What Happens If NinjaTrader Is Closed?
Trades that closed while NT8 was running are already written to the CSV file and appear in TrackyTrade immediately. Trades placed when NT8 is offline cannot be captured by the indicator — but they can be imported manually via CSV from NT8's trade log after the session.
Multiple NT8 Accounts
TrackyTrade supports multiple NT8 accounts simultaneously. Each trade row includes the account name, so Apex, Take Profit Trader, and sim accounts are all tracked and separated automatically.
